Can I still use Viber as a one-way messaging service with a unified account?

By default and as part of the unified service type provided by Viber since October 2021, the user keyboard will always be opened, allowing users to send messages to businesses.

Each business can decide whether or not they want to receive user messages by setting up the necessary message URL. At tyntec, we offer a message URL by default, but this can be deactivated per customer request.

For the unified services where businesses have not set up a message URL, Viber will send users an automatic text autoreply indicating that the business will not receive their messages, prompting the user to navigate to the business profile page for an alternative point of contact.
