  • Why does tyntec charge monthly fees for WhatsApp Business?

    tyntec charges monthly fees to cover costs related to configuring, setting up, hosting and maintaining your WhatsApp Business Account. We do NOT charge setup fees.

    Also, tyntec's monthly fees include unlimited session messages per active contact, so you don't have to worry about variable transactional costs.

    To enable companies of various sizes and budgets to use WhatsApp, we have 3 monthly plans that you can choose from:

    • Starter: EUR 89, incl. unlimited session messaging for 1000 monthly active contacts. Additional contact charged at EUR 0.09
    • Growth: EUR 169, incl. unlimited session messaging for 3500 monthly active contacts. Additional contact charged at EUR 0.05
    • Enterprise: EUR 299, incl. unlimited session messaging for 6000 monthly active contacts. Additional contact charged at EUR 0.03.
  • What’s an active contact and how are they charged?

    Active Contact is an end user that has exchanged (received or sent) at least 1 message on WhatsApp in a given month. You can exchange ‘unlimited session messages’ per active contact.

    Each price plan has a certain amount of monthly active contacts included:

    • Starter: 1000 monthly active contacts
    • Growth: 3500 monthly active contacts
    • Enterprise: 6000 monthly active contacts

    In case you have communicated with more active contacts in a given month than what’s included in your chosen package, we charge an additional fee per active contact:

    • Starter: EUR 0.09 per monthly active user
    • Growth: EUR 0.05 per monthly active user
    • Enterprise: EUR 0.03 per monthly active user
  • Can I upgrade / downgrade my plan?

    While you can always upgrade your plan at any time, downgrading your plan depends on the subscription terms of your existing package.

    For example, if you currently have the Growth plan, which has a minimum subscription of 6 months, you can downgrade it to Starter after your minimum subscription has run out. With Enterprise, which has a minimum subscription of 12 months, the same principle applies.

  • How can I see how many monthly active contacts have been used?

    All of your financial reports will be based on monthly active contacts and can be found on your tyntec account.

  • Will I be charged VAT?

    Customers outside of the EU and United Kingdom are not charged VAT. While customers in the EU and the United Kingdom need to provide us their VAT number to avoid having VAT applied to their invoice.

    Customers who are VAT-registered in the United Kingdom are subject to a domestic reverse charge as per (VAT Act 1994 Section 55). Customer accounts to HMRC for the reverse charge output tax on the VAT exclusive price of items. Customers who are VAT registered in Europe, excluding the United Kingdom, are subject to reverse charge (per Art. 196, 6. EU-Directive).

  • How can I pay my tyntec invoice?

    By the 10th day of the month we send you an invoice for charges related to the previous month, which includes your monthly fee and your message fees.

    • You can pay your invoice on my.tyntec.com, and also top up your credits to send WhatsApp messages. Just proceed to “Finance” and then “Online Payments”. Please note that we do not collect money automatically.
    • Alternatively, pay your invoice via bank transfer (details are in every invoice).

    ℹ️ WhatsApp invoices are due after 15 days post payment by default, for both direct enterprises and ISV partners.

  • What is WhatsApp conversation-based pricing?

    Starting February 1st, 2022, WhatsApp will switch from a notification-based pricing model to a conversation-based one. Instead of being charged for notifications sent, businesses will be charged per conversation, including all messages delivered within 24 hours.

    WhatsApp Business API conversations fall into two categories that are priced differently:

    • User-initiated, like customer care and general support inquiries.
    • Business-initiated, like post-purchase notifications.

    All conversations are measured in 24-hour increments, or "sessions", that start whenever a business delivers the first message. The first message can be initiated by the company (business-initiated) or a business reply within 24 hours of a user message (user-initiated). A user is defined as the person or entity with whom the business is messaging.

    Conversations charges are based on the user’s phone number. Rates for business-initiated and user-initiated conversations vary by market (country or region). See Rates for specific pricing information.

  • How do I request an account with Viber Business Messages via tyntec?

    To start with Viber Business Messages with tyntec, you can fill out our Viber setup form

    Once you’ve completed it, you’ll receive a confirmation and we’ll integrate it onto Viber’s system. We promptly let you know once your account has been setup.

    In case your account request has been rejected – which is very rare – we will let you know the reasons why. When this happens, usually it is due to missing or incorrect information. Once your account and serviceIDs have been configured, you can start sending messages to your users.

  • How can I test Viber Business Messages via tyntec?

    There are two ways to try out Viber:

    • Viber Business Messages API only: create your account and use your 1,500 complimentary messages to try out Viber. 
    • Viber Business Messages + Conversations Inbox: sign up for the free trial here. You can try out the Conversations Inbox for 30 days with Viber, including 1,500 complimentary messages during the trial period. After the trial, you can continue using the Conversations Inbox for EUR 149,- /monthly. Viber messages are charged separately and not included in the Conversations Inbox pricing.

  • What’s included in the free trial?

    The tyntec free trial for Viber includes:

    • One month free to use the Conversations Inbox, the tyntec omnichannel platform. During the trial period, you can add up to ten agents and use the platform with all of its features during the trial period. 
    • 1,500 complimentary messages to try Viber out. 

    The trial does not include:

    • Unlimited messaging. After your 1,500 free messages, message consumption will be charged by tyntec. 
    • CRM, chatbot integration, and customizations in the Conversations Inbox. We provide these services free of charge for our paying customers only. After your free trial, you can integrate your CRM, chatbots and customize the tool according to your needs.
  • How does Viber bill a business account?

    With Viber, you pay only for the messages you send. However, while we don’t charge any monthly or setup fee, Viber requires a monthly minimum spend. If you reach the minimum spend organically, no extra charges are applied to your business account.

  • What’s the monthly minimum spend?

    Viber’s monthly minimum spend is the minimum consumption a company is required to pay per month.

    Because Viber charges only per message/session, it’s important that companies commit a minimum spend to continue with a business profile. This is required by Viber and has also the goal to avoid setting up many accounts that turn out to be inactive or with very low usage. 

    A company is billed a minimum monthly fee for each Business ID. For example: if a service is created on February 2nd/16th/28th, the minimum fee will apply in March. No extra charges are applied if the minimum fee is reached organically.

  • How can I pay my Viber invoice?

    By the 10th day of the month, we send you an invoice for charges related to the previous month, which includes your message fees (and the Conversations Inbox monthly fee, if you’re a user of that service).
