TON/NPI Settings
The Type of Number (TON) allows the sender to indicate the type of number such as whether it is an international number (i.e. including the country code), a national/domestic number (i.e. without country code), and other formats such as local format (e.g. in the U.S., without an area code) or alphanumeric sender ID.  
 
The Numbering Plan Indicator (NPI) describes which numbering plan will be used for the global title (GT). The numbering plan chosen will aid the routing system in determining the correct network system to direct the SMS message to. As a feature, this allows the customer to set the originator settings - the number as national format (07852 900460) instead of international +447852 900460.  This feature is useful to recognise the characteristics of the number (international, national, alphanumeric, ISDN, etc.).
