Telecom-web convergence
This describes the ongoing merger of traditional telecoms services, such as fixed line and mobile, with web-based Internet technology.  Telecom-web convergence aims to allow users to access both traditional communications and Internet based services from a variety of devices.  

The term also applies to the back-end infrastructure which allows Internet service providers and telecoms operators to offer a powerful amalgamated platform capable of offering calls, messaging, Internet, applications and other web-based content.
