OTA
Over the air, or OTA, is a process which uses binary SMS and is mainly used to configure and install additional services on a mobile device without involving the end-user. Main use cases include software updates, configuration settings and security locks.

OTA is particularly useful for enterprise Mobile Device Management (MDM), in order to manage corporate fleets of mobile phones and PDAs. Mobile operators also use OTA messaging extensively to configure mobile phones of their subscribers with minimum effort.
