International Messaging Transit (IMT)

International Messaging Transit (IMT) is a GSMA approved SMS hub solution for mobile operators and MVNOs which enables 2-way SMS traffic across mobile operators worldwide. IMT allows mobile operators to increase SMS volumes and revenues by reaching additional SMS destinations.

TynTec's SMS Hubbing technology has been certified by the GSMA. Click here for more information!

Today global messaging reach is limited because international SMS delivery is dependant on bi-lateral roaming agreements between operators. The IMT service extends international network coverage for operators, without the need to sign additional roaming agreements.

IMT is Fully Compliant to the GSM Association's Open Connectivity High Level Requirements

IMT meets the GSM Association’s high level requirements for SMS hubbing. Beyond the GSMA requirements TynTec’s IMT service provides additional services which are required to provide a consistent service to mobile operators. TynTec’s IMT ensures all messages are also transmitted in roaming situations and in Mobile Number Portability environments, as well as providing operators with SS7 and/or SMPP interfaces to connect to the IMT service.

Additional features, such as advanced anti-spam and anti-spoof utilities, reporting capabilities, transparency in all transactions and cascade-billing are provided.

SMS Hubbing Simplifies International Messaging

IMT gives operators the advantage of simplifying international SMS operations by avoiding the need for new and costly bi-lateral roaming agreements. By signing one simple IR21 agreement (SMS only) for all additional SMS interconnect activity, operators use practically the same procedures as with one individual roaming agreement.

IMT also means managing one single legal, technical and billing relationship rather than hundreds of roaming agreements for SMS messaging. Additionally, operators connecting to TynTec’s IMT retain all existing procedures and capabilities of their normal network, billing and roaming operations.

Transparent Conversion between all technologies

IMT has the ability to route messages through all existing access interfaces. This means IMT supports transparent routing within the same access interface, e.g. SMPP-to-SMPP and SS7-to-SS7; as well as supporting conversion between different interfaces, such as SMPP-to-SS7, SS7-to-SMPP and SS7-SS7.

End-to-End SMS Transmission

TynTec retains control and visibility of the entire messaging path, offering high reliability and security in SMS transit for the connected mobile operator.

Enhanced International Reach

IMT provides SMS handling for nearly 400 GSM networks in over 160 countries, and SMS routing capabilities for CDMA, TDMA, 3G, fixed and pager networks.

Enhanced Routing Capabilities

IMT provides important features for international SMS routing such as full Mobile Number Portability transparency, traffic screening (white listings, maximum message size, anti-spam, antivirus, syntactic offering), throttle control (enables the control of the amount of messages received) and reporting through the advanced IMT Portal.
