Main Accountabilities

  • Develop an IT strategy for future company growth.
  • Develop and coordinate solutions for cost-effective and optimized IT-operations.
  • Monitor and safeguard quality and efficiency of all IT systems.
  • Analyze and improve are IT supported processes.
  • Maintain and administrate hard- and software systems, both on client and server side.
  • Balance management tasks with daily operational involvement.
  • Oversee surveillance and inventory of internal and external IT and telecommunication resources.
  • Lead, develop and coordinate operations team with strong focus on execution
  • Motivate team while developing member skills, and reinforcing their standing in the company.
  • Drive forward the hand-over internal user support operations and service issues from existing departments.
  • Restructure the existing service department into a complete internal services support team.
  • Apply recruitment and retention techniques to maintain consistency and service level.
  • Budget operational IT costs, support planning of IT investments and monitor all IT related costs.

The ideal candidate should have the following profile

  • At least 5 years of experience in IT operations; ideally former department head experience
  • University degree in Information Technologies or equivalent knowledge
  • Firm behavior, with a high seniority level too make sure that rules are not only created but followed
  • Good crisis manager: Staying calm under high pressure
  • Willingness to take more responsibility over time and new challenges
  • Process oriented approach to IT
  • Entrepreneurial attitude with excellent negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly self-motivated and team-oriented attitude
  • Analytical mind with structured work approach and distinctive problem resolution skills - combined with pragmatism and hands - on mentality
  • Fluent in English and German
  • Technical knowledge about Linux as server and client operating system, Windows as a client operating system, Trouble Ticket Systems, Mail/Groupware, Availability and performance monitoring, IT management/inventory software
  • Optional knowledge about CRM and SAP Administration, Virtualization, SQL Database systems, Knowledge Management/Wiki, Web/Application Servers, other common Linux services like DNS, LDAP, Samba, FTP, SSH)
